I feel I have leant a lot since we first did the preliminary task and although we have not put all the elements into our final product due to time we did think about using them but were not able to fit them in. An example of this is a match on action shot.
Preliminary task (Prelim) vs. Final Product (Truth)
The first shot of the Prelim is a long shot of the protagonist, there are no titles put before this and so it looks very rough and rather poorly edited in as no fade ins are used which would have made it flow much better. 
Whilst in Truth, the first scene shown by the audience is the 'SDK Productions' logo which has been animated to move like cogs normally would if they were working. It has been edited to change from colour to black and white so it fits in with the style and genre of the movie. The sound of cogs were also put in so it seems more realistic. Whilst in the Prelim no extra sound was added besides from the ambient sound that was already there, and no extra editing was used so that shot is the original raw footage taken. Since the Prelim I have learnt how to add sounds such as a soundtrack into the scene, I have learnt how to mute video clips so that all the viewer would hear is the soundtrack/dialogue etc., and how to edit video clips from colour to black and white.
Although I used a match on action in the Prelim task and not in Truth,I have still learnt how to film one and edit it so it flows. For example, in the Prelim task a long shot of the girl and the protagonist is first taken until she starts to hand him the phone, then a close up of the exchanging of the phone is taken and finally another long where the protagonist has the phone and the girl walks away. It is then edited to flow much better.

In Truth, however, I used an Over the shoulder shot which I had previously not had used before. The camera was positioned just behind the Grandmother so her shoulder is shown on the edge of the frame and the main focus is on Roseanne. And on another occasion in the same scene, the camera is moved behind Roseanne so it is her shoulder you can see and the Grandmother is now the main focus of the shot. 
In the Prelim, I took a close up of the protagonist's shoe when he was running, this was done by placing the camera onto the floor whilst the actor ran past. Similarly I used a close up of shoes in Truth as well. This was also filmed by placing the camera on the floor so it was close to the actors feet when he walked up the steps. 
Another example of a close up in the Prelim is of the timer for the 'bomb'. This was used by tilting the camera face down onto the timer. The distance between the camera and the timer meant it was not an extreme close up as this would be where the distance between the camera and subject is very short. I learnt how to do a successful extreme close up and used it in Truth. The extreme close up were of Roseanne's eyes and certain words in the letter, and this was done by using a tripod on the desk to make sure the camera was stable and would not move during filming. 
I have learnt how to do a successful pan and used at least one in both the Prelim and in Truth. The pan of the protagonist in the Prelim shows him running towards the building which is then followed by quick cuts of close ups of his shoes and face. This pan worked very well and so I decided to add one into Truth. The pan in Truth is when the Grandmother is walking towards the desk to give the letter to Roseanne. This also worked very well but I didn't want to just use pans to show movement. Therefore a tracking shot was added. We had never done a tracking shot before so we leant how to use the dolly to move the camera around with ease. The tracking shot is shown near the end of Truth when Roseanne puts on her coat and walks off. 
On an editing aspect, Prelim has very little editing although at the end the green screen was used to create an explosion and then added so it looked like it came from where the 'bomb' was in the college. Whilst Truth had a lot more editing done to it. I leant how to change the colour of the footage and made it black and white to fit in with the Film Noir genre and I made the title screen 'Truth.' and also animated it using After Effects.
The mise-en-scene for Prelim was barely anything. No costumes or make up was used to make the actors become the characters they were playing and no attention to the props used and the general setting was made. Whilst in Truth, more attention could be made and I learnt how to make a location become a setting for particular scenes. For example Roseanne's desk had to be created and made to look like a desk with a mixture of modern and old elements. This helps the audience visually have an idea of the type of person the character Roseanne is without barely seeing her first. I learnt the importance of having details in mise-en-scene and how this can help the audience follow the story and get to know the characters better.
